The 11th annual Open Highway Music Festival will take place Thursday through Saturday, July 28-30, 2022!

Featuring some of the most exciting names across a wide range of roots-oriented genres, the Open Highway Music Festival continues to provide St. Louis with its own homegrown, world-class roots music festival. The 2022 edition will open with a special Thursday-night concert at the Old Rock House and will then return to Chesterfield Amphitheater for two more nights of music and revelry

Last year, Open Highway took over Chesterfield Amphitheater for the festival’s first-ever outdoor edition, as Watchhouse, Old Crow Medicine Show, Marcus King Band, Whitey Morgan, Maggie Rose, Son Volt, Paul Cauthen, Morgan Wade, and many more artists played thrilling sets on two stages in a beautiful setting offering sunshine, shade, the area’s favorite food trucks, delicious libations, and evening musical magic under the stars.

Open Highway founder John Henry: “2021 was an amazing experience, moving outdoors and being in a larger space with so many artists. In 2022, we are coming back with some of the most compelling artists in rock, country and Americana for a tighter, can’t-miss weekend.”

The 2022 festival will kick off Thursday, July 28 at the Old Rock House, the premiere concert venue in downtown St. Louis, with a special evening with the legendary Steve Earle. Thirty-five years after his landmark debut album Guitar Town, Thursday will be an unforgettable and intimate night of classics from one of country-rock’s all-timers. Opening will be the sensational Whitmore Sisters, seasoned roots sirens who are now breaking out on their own with a gorgeous debut album.

Friday, July 29 at Chesterfield Amphitheater will feature the definitive guitar-slinging alt-country standard bearers Drive-By Truckers, who will stop at OHMF as part of their 25th anniversary tour. Celebrated Texas troubadour James McMurtry will also bring his masterful folk-rock tunesmithing to the main stage. And Open Highway continues its commitment to showcasing the best in St. Louis area bands, as barn-burning bluegrass quartet The Screechin’ Halts get things started with a picking-and-singing hootenanny.

Headlining Saturday, July 30 will be award-winning country firebrand Margo Price whose tradition-steeped spirit and kicky modern edge will make for a honky-tonkin’ Saturday night. Genre-bending folkicana duo Shovels and Rope will bring their harmony-rich indie-roots power to OHMF for the first time. Texas country singer-songwriter Hayes Carll will be on hand to deliver his signature blend of twang, humor, and poetry. John Moreland will arrive armed with his songwriter’s songwriter tunes of autumnal beauty and acoustic literacy for an inimitable sonic mural. As the fest expands to two stages, some of St. Louis’s breakout artists will offer daylight delights—the horn-drenched Funky Butt Brass Band, heartland rockers Western States, and the rustic folk stylings of Riley Holtz.

Ticket prices for Open Highway 2022 start at $40 for Thursday, $45 for Friday, and $75 for Saturday. Weekend passes (Fri/Sat) are available for $100 (general admission) and $110 (includes lower-level seating). Once again, Open Highway remains committed to supporting local charities. This year, a portion of all ticket sales will benefit St. Patrick Center, an organization that combats homelessness in the St. Louis area.
