The Foundry Art Centre is excited to unveil its final exhibitions of the year: 8x8x8 and Christmas Traditions® 50th Anniversary – The Exhibition.

8x8x8 returns for its fourth year, offering artists a unique challenge: What can they create within a space measuring 8x8x8 feet? This year's participants, Steve Jones, Dee Levang, Carolyn Lewis, Jasmine Raskas, Jeremy Rabus, Kirby Kogut, Maxine Thirteen, and the Foundry Studio Artists will fill one-third of the Main Galleries with their incredible works.

All pieces in this exhibition are available for purchase and can be taken home immediately, making it a great opportunity to support local artists and find one-of-a-kind holiday gifts.

Christmas Traditions® 50th Anniversary – The Exhibition celebrates five decades of the beloved St. Charles festival through a contemporary art lens. St. Louis-based artist Tiffany Sutton has reimagined the Legends of Christmas with stunning double-exposure photography. Accompanying mood boards and retired festival costumes offer a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of these iconic characters.

Additionally, the exhibition will showcase ever-popular commemorative trading cards from the festival's history.

Exhibition will be on view through December 22nd.
Hours: 10am - 5pm // Tuesday - Saturday

Let It Be Christmas
Produced by Rocky Marlowe Productions

Experience the Christmas story like never before in Let it Be Christmas—a unique, modern-day telling of the Nativity, expressed entirely through the timeless music of The Beatles. This innovative production weaves together dozens of the Fab Four's most beloved songs to celebrate the journey of Mary and Joseph and the miraculous birth of the Christ Child.

Enjoy classics such as “Hey Jude,” “The Long and Winding Road,” “All You Need is Love,” and of course, “Let it Be,” as the music of The Beatles brings this ancient story to life in a fresh, contemporary way.

"Sit back and let the evening go" as you witness the Christmas story with a musical twist, brought to you by Rocky Marlowe Productions.

Disclaimer: This is a community-produced event featuring local performers. As such, it highlights the talents of emerging artists from our community and may differ from professional theatrical productions. We appreciate your support and understanding as we foster creativity and growth in all performers.

In this special collaboration, Jazz St Louis and Saint Louis Dance Theatre join forces to present an innovative spin on a beloved holiday tradition! In 1960, equal billing of The Nutcracker by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn marked a milestone for the longtime collaborators. A brilliant musician, arranger, and active member of the LGBTQ+ community, Strayhorn lived in authenticity at a time where most worked to keep their identities hidden. Drawing inspiration from Strayhorn’s extraordinary life, choreographer Kirven Douthit-Boyd tells a magical story of a composer who dreams of writing a song for a legendary performer. After traveling to attend her one-night-only engagement, he finds himself emersed in a vibrant social scene, and entangled in an unexpected romance. The choice to set the work in St Louis’ popular entertainment quarter, Gaslight District, pays tribute to the prominent individuals and landmarks that gave rise to a vibrant time in the city’s cultural history. This work speaks to the power of community, the gift of love, and the importance of self-acceptance.
